Young Rewired State Festival of Code
I was honoured to be asked to be one of the judges for Young Rewired State’s Festival of Code 2014. It’s an annual, UK wide event and this year the finals were held at the University of Plymouth. Hundreds of bright teenagers travelled down to Plymouth for an enormous sleepover/ pizza party/ codeathon. It was great to see young ‘hackers’ develop their digital skills, learn about teamwork and communication, and come up with some bizarre and brilliant apps, games and ideas. From crowdsourced animations to using datafeeds to ease the problems of modern life, here is a list of the winners. I think my favourite was ExploreLocal location-aware map game which provides clues to find nearby places of interest.
